At Hermitage Elementary, we are working towards a giant city installation in the showcase corner. Each grade level is taking responsibility for one part of the installation.
The 2nd graders used pencils and watercolors to create 2 of the same car. After completion, they put small paper loops in between their cars to give depth enough for the cars to stand. To cover up the loops, we used a strip of paper, and wrote words about the city, attaching it over the loops. We looked at Red Grooms’ “NYC Taxi” for our inspiration.
